The hotel is bang in the town centre and in a good position for shopping and nightlife. The staff are more than helpful. But on my stay the lift was out of order and the carpark can be a squeeze. The full english breakfast was a big disappointment nowt full about it. One egg, one sausage, one slice of bacon, one sliced mushroom, spoon full of beans and black pudding an amount that would fit on a tea spoon to me dont equate to a full english breakfast. I would stay again but i would have to find a cafe to get a proper full english.

If you want 5 star luxury this is not the hotel for you as she is definately an aging beauty but the hotel staff were very helpful and quick to respond,t he buffet breakfast is freshly cooked and excellent, the location for rail and bus links is perfect. We will definately stay there again when we return to friendly lancaster which is a great town with plenty to do and see with somewhere to eat suiting all budgets and tastes.

Very enjoyable, hotel very comfortable and central, not a very big carpark and could be misleading on how to get to carpark, staff frendly and helpful.

Weekend In Lancaster

Stay Date: 27/02/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

3 out of 5

Despite being given directions to the hotel's car-park we had to suffer three trips round lancaster's one-way system, plus parking elsewhere and walking to the hotel before we could find where it was. For your information the sign directing you to the hotel car park is located high up on the wall of waterstones, not at street level. The hotel itself looked tired and dull. The lift to the 4th floor worked only if the doors had been shut properly. The room was fair. There was a lot of street noise, sirens etc overnight. We stayed for two nights - the room was not cleaned during the stay nor dirty towels removed - although a bag of new towels was left outside the door. Had a sandwich and dessert in the restaurant, the waiter was friendly and helpful, the food was good. There was a reasonable choice for breakfast; as the pastries had run out quickly the first day, the waiter kindly kept some aside for us the next day. Lancaster has easy access to the two places we were interested in visiting. Morecambe is a 10 minute train and carlisle a 50 minute train from lancaster. The train station is only a short walk from the hotel.
