Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We booked a twin room and on arrival were told unfortunately none were available. We were eventually given a family room which was more than acceptable. There were five coach parties in at the time we stayed, so breakfast was a little frenetic. On both nights we ate in the hotel restaurant. On the first night (sunday) there were just a handful of people dining (as the 250 coach party were in a function room) and the food was truly dire - cold and very dry. The second night was the complete opposite, very busy and long waits to be served the first course. Fortunately the remainder of the meal was a self service buffet, and the food was very good. We would stay here again as it is in a very convenient location for the areas we wish to visit and the local people are quite wonderful!.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5On arrival the grounds and the outside appearance of the hotel were impressive with the old house and the modern extension. The room clean and well serviced. It was rather noisy being adjacent to a bar with evening activities for coach parties. The corridor doors did not close properly banging as people walked in and out. However the main problem was with the restaurant and the service there. It appeared only to cater for the coach parties who had specified times and appointed tables while other guests had to find somewhere for themselves. The staff made no attempt to speak to us and find a table at breakfast while they tried to clear away dishes from earlier. There were only two junior staff, totally unsupervised trying to do this and not resetting any places. There was still almost two hours of breakfast to go and there was very little left and no fresh food was brought in. What was left was stale and drying out having lain there since first thing. We had to work out that we served our own tea and coffee but the flasks were empty and there was no hot water. The enormous bowl of used tea bags that lay uncollected put one off bothering to make any. It seemed that the coach parties had been through earlier like a plague of locusts, leaving no tables set for other guests and no attemtpt to make other guests welcome. On the second morning there was a more senior staff member who welcomed us and found a table that had not been used and was set. The food situation was unfortunately the same. Later in the day i went to the retaurant to enquire about having dinner in the hotel. On asking if there was a menu to look at i was told that there was none and they did not know what was available until the food came up from the kitchen in the evening.Once again it seemed that the only interest was to the all inclusive coach parties. We ate out thereafter. All in all this was a disappointment in terms of the service provided in a potentially attractive hotel in a country setting.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We enjoyed a super weekend, staying at the hotel, and only having a 15 - 20min journey to Warwick castle in the morning. My young children experienced a hotel for the first time, and, with the castle theme, thought that the royal court hotel was for special 'kings and queens' to stay. Thay loved it. The leisure facilities were good, and the food in the restaurant was lovely. Only down side was the size of the bed. We are used to a king size, and it was only a double, so it felt cramped. A few more blankets and sheets would have been nice for the children's beds, as only 1 of each was provided.

out of 5Visited Coventry centre, the old and new cathedrals, also the old section of town and the 14th century church. We found Coventry to be an area of shopping malls surrounded by a ring road and not quite what we expected. On the other hand we found the hotel to be relaxing which was what we wanted, the staff good and attentive (my wife is using sticks after two different operations in 3 months) and the food was very good. The room was large and well equipped although whoever thought it a good idea to put the toilet directly opposite the wash basin when there was space elsewhere needs their head examining. We would visit the hotel again if we were staying in that area.
