out of 5I am doing this review as I spent hours scouring the internet before booking looking for a clean hotel room. Found it at the Ramada in Coventry. Our room was clean, with plenty courtesy towels etc., milk and lots of coffees etc. One complaint is that the room windows do not open and the heating is impossible to control. We found it hard to sleep at such high temperatures. We had reduced the setting to 16 degrees but it reverted back in the middle to the night to something like 26 degrees. Did not eat in the restaurant as it was empty and thought that was no recommendation. The area is one where perhaps you would feel safer arriving by car. We came by train from the NEC. It is about a 10 minute walk from the station.We would recommend Coventry as a base for visiting the NEC in Birmingham. It is so easy to get from one to the other by train (approx 10 to 20 mins I think). When you step off the train at Birmingham International you just walk across the corridor to the NEC entrance.
