out of 5We stayed overnite at the mill hotel which was very comfortable clean and modern. Had a great meal at the victoaria pub. Went shopping in Sudbury ten minute walk from the hotel.

out of 5We spent the Christmas break in Sudbury, Suffolk, staying at the old Mill Hotel in an all inclusive deal. We loved waking up each morning to see ducks and swans swimming past on the Stour river and the views across the ancient meadowlands. The hotel provided suitably festive food - but in their enthusiasm to get it right for lunch and dinner breakfast tended to be burnt! we went on some lovely walks around Sudbury where there are many historical buildings including the old corn exchange and an outdoor market in Christmas eve. On boxing day we went to the sales again only a short walk from the hotel. Afterwards we went on a riverside walk before returning at dusk for a piece of christmas cake and a cup of coffee. The three nights away was just long enough to feel like a refreshing break in midwinter and re-energised us for the busy period back at work in January.

out of 5An excellent weekend all round, the hotel was very good and their restaurant was excellent. There was plenty to see and visit thorughout the area and people everywhere were pleasant.

out of 5We were visiting friends in Suffolk, so did not do any sightseeing, although the walk along the river, behind the hotel was very picturesque. The hotel was clean, the staff were polite and helpful, and the room was nicely decorated. The hotel was a short walk from the town, and in a very pleasant location. Parking was easy too.
