out of 5The hotel was well situated for accessing the town. It was spotlessley clean. Unfortunately on arrival after 2.30pm our room was not ready. The receptionist was apologetic, and explained that they had been very busy that day. Whilst we appreciate that things can go awry, we were expecting to access our room from 2pm onwards. There was nothing wrong with the hotel,but because it supports the conference centre next to it, the hotel had a corporate feel to it. When we could not access our room we made the best of things and visited the town and the excellent and famous Betty's. The service, atmosphere and tasty food was well worth a visit. The town centre is compact with a range of stylish boutique type shops, together with elegant, small-scale department stores. We visited Harrogate with the intention of starting our Christmas shopping and having a leisurely weekend break. We managed to buy most of our presents and certainly had a relaxing time. It was good to be able to purchase goods, deposit them back at the hotel, relax a little,and venture out again. There are a good range of restaurants in the town and. The Spa Baths building is an interesting structure. The architecture generally is elegant. Harrogate is a charming place.
