Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5My son had his wedding reception at the Golf Club just up the road from the Grovefield. Several of us stayed the night and my son and daughter in law got ready at the hotel. The staff were very accomadating and friendly, the beds very comfortable and the bar was open when we returned to the hotel to finish our evening off. I would stay there again for a weekend break. My mother enjoyed the afternoon tea
Short Break In Windsor

Stay Date: 21/01/09
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The hotel staff were very good but the hotel leaves a lot to be desired. It's in the middle of nowhere and taxis are very expensive, it may be nice to offer a courtesy bus to the nearest towns. There was a firm alarm on our last morning and we had to leave the hotel in the middle of breakfast and go out in the freezing cold, and nobody said anything about compensation nor apologised for the cold (I have a 10 year old daughter who was freezing). There is no lounge area apart from the bar, no daily newspapers to browse, no public telephone, no computer to browse the internet. The beds were very uncomfortable as one was a pull down and the other a sofa bed. There was no lock on the inside of the door which made me feel insecure. I would not stay in this hotel again. It is clean, the staff are very good and the hotel has recently been refurbished, but it is still lacking in many areas, for the price.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Stayed in Burnham and used the train abd bus to travel to Windsor, Legoland, had super day.The hotel was rather noisey as it had conferances on both nights and they were in the garden having a barbacue. Our room was over gardenThe day we left spent it in London and went on the London eye Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, visited Dianas memorial fountain and playground. Great day for the kids.
Short Break in Windsor

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Our main aim was to visit National Trust properties in the area. Hughenden and Waddesdon Manors were most interesting whilst Hatchlands Park and Cranden were less so.The RHS gardens at Wisley were a must for us and we spent most of the day wondering around. The new grenhouse is fantastic, the whole place is much better than Kew Gardens in our opinionWe had some good meals at the Feathers pub (Chef & Brewer) in Taplow (Opposite the entrance to Clivedon House also NT.) Friendly staff, good food and a nice atmosphere. The Pimms was very enjoyable. Try a walk in Windsor in the evening when all the crowds have gone but avoid the actual railway station!
