out of 5Hotel very good, set in very nice grounds. The staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meals at the hotel and the staff looked after us really well. The bedroom was very clean with beautifull furnishings. Will go there again.

out of 5After arriving at the hotel we were welcomed by very friendly and efficient reception staff. The room we were directed too was spacious, warm and of beautiful traditional character. The double doors looked out onto the fantastic rural gardens and as part of the valentines special there was a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates which was a nice touch. Evening meal was very nice too although my mushroom pasta in a garlic and basil cream sauce lacked flavour and the pasta was overcooked. Main course and dessert were very nice though. The meal came with a bottle of wine too which was great. After relaxing in front of an open log fire we returned to our room to find a dozen red roses on the bed. Again, a lovely touch by the hotel. Breakfast was very good and service throughout our stay was excellent. Amazing value for money and truly recommended for anybody wishing to stay in this area with a very short drive to the main lakes.

out of 5Was on walking weekend. Ideal position to see area. Ate out for dinner so can't comment on dinner but breakfast was good, room was warm and comfortable although the decore was a bit dark for my taste.
