A Weekend Near Ascot
A customerwho stayed at 3* De Vere Venues Sunningdale Park (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Ascot wrote this review.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5It was a perfect weekend weatherwise which made the whole weekend all the more enjoyable. The hotel was situated in a very pleasant area (sunningdale) which was a very rural setting. The hotel was divided into blocks which was very pleasant (much better than a high rise hotel). An unusual setting inasmuch as the hotel shared the space with the national school of government, although I was told by staff that they were completely independent of each other. However, our accommodation was a good five minutes walk from the restaurant. Not a problem for us at all, but if someone with walking difficulties visited, this could pose a problem. Also, not much of this distance was under cover. Again, a delightful walk in the weather we had, but if it rains, guests will get very wet. The food was good at the restaurant, but it was very understaffed for the number of guests it had to serve. On the first evening (friday), there was a very large noisy group which was attending a wedding the following day and on the saturday evening there was a very large church group with children - again very noisy. Having said all that, i think the weekend was still very good value for money. If anyone does visit this hotel, make sure you visit northcote house based in the grounds. It is a delightful georgian house which now hosts conferences and weddings, but surprisingly is not georgian at all, but was built in the 1930s.
