out of 5We toured and walked our way round the highlands around Fort William in the first 2 weeks of August 2008, visiting Castles and finding quiet pretty places to walk and rest! Both Eilean Donnan and Urquhart Castles were great! For 2 weeks the weather around Fort William was damp but occasionaly sunny. Our trip to the Isle of Skye (2 days during our stay) was an unheard of dry, sunny, and beautiful time with wonderful views and sunsets!

out of 5Though lacking in quality entertainment, the Kings Arms Hotel has an excellent chef; the reason we extended our stay. There is an on-going road improvement on the island, making the beautiful scenery more accessible than in the past. There is a variety of places, to suit all ages, to visit should the weather cloud the views: For example-The Aros Experience.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Great location. The hotel where we stayed and that I booked through Superbreak - Kings Arms Hotel - was too expensive for the degree of comfort offered. A breakfast hour had to be booked in advanced because the lunchroom was too small for the number of guests. There were only a bathtub in our room and no shower. There were no mix taps either in the sink and on the bathtub - and the hot water was very, very hot. Therefore you always had to fill the sink to wash your hands or the bathtub to take an immersion bath. Apart not being too hygienic the amount of wasted water was immense. The hotel needs an urgent refurbishment.

out of 5The hotel was below average we stayed in 5 hotels during stay in Scotland and this was the worst. Rooms were drab and not totally clean ie dusty, dirty tiling in bathroom etc very dated and in need of refurbishment. Woken up through the night by plumbing noises/sound of running water and people walking along the corridor (it sounded as if they were in the room.Scenery fantastic. Getting around by car very easy. Serious lack of real ale in the pubs.
