out of 5The only blot on our stay at the hotel my wife left a new bathing costume (£90) in the room. She reported to the hotel when we got home told them where she left it and the hotel came back and said no it was not there. We have just retired from the hotel trade, we always returned lost property and staff were told to turn in any items left behind. Otherwise the hotel was very good.

out of 5Had a lovely weekend in york for my 40th birthday, the first room given in the royal york was terrible, work was being done in the hotel had to go out of the building and walk through carpark to get to the room, when we finally got there looked out of window to find a generator 3 foot from window, changed room to third floor and even though room very small was much better than first room given and the view out of the window was of the wheel which was nice. I wouldnt recommend the breakfast in the hotel as there are lots of lovely places to eat out and also a lot cheaper as breakfast is £10.00 each person, I would stay in hotel again but definately go out to eat.

out of 5Excellent hotel, excellent city and excellent train (first class!). The only downside was a wedding reception in the hotel, so some slightly noisy guest at 2 am, apart from that great!.

out of 5We travelled first class on east coast trains which was excellent, good hotel in york and plenty to do in and around york during our stay...We will certainly use Superbreak again.
