out of 5Hotel was clean, but was in desperate need of refurbishment. Catered more for stag/hen do's was central for all the bars and shops. Wish i'd paid more and stayed at the copthorne hotel on the tyne. Which i know from previous stays is excellent.

out of 5Secure car park, that allows you to walk right into the hotel. Hotel is shabby and perfect for a lads night. It is slap bang in the middle of all the bars and clubs, not somewhere you would really take your other half, but for a boys trip nothing could be better, obviously we slept through breakfast!.

out of 5Stayed at newgate hotel for 4 nights. Long way to reception. Room clean but dated, ripped curtain in room, bath overflow actually had water running into bath), apparently old plumbing system, staff very polite and helpful at reception.

out of 5Enjoyed visits to Alnwick garden and castle, George Stephenson's birthplace, Jesmond Dene, angel of the north, Newcastle quayside, castle, Tyneside cinema, museums, art galleries, etc. Excellent bus service. Hotel central and comfortable but in need of some refurbishment. Good view from 6th floor restuarant and good value for money. Hairdryer, trouser press and iron/ironing board in room.
