out of 5Good city full of interest. Buy a welcome travel ticket at the airport if travelling independently. Mark hotel Meinecke easy to find, get off main train at Zoologishe and walk. Walk the city- the best way to be part of it. Potsdam, get train from Zoologishe, 40mins. Brill palaces and gardens, great dutch quarter.

out of 5Stayed at Mark Meineke Hotel which was good value for money but in need of a make over. Booked "Insider Tour" walking tour of Berlin with Superbreak which was an excellent tour guide Kenny was very informative and good fun, learnt a lot and saw all the major sights. Took the train to Olympic Stadium, well worth a visit, trains are frequent and convenient. Berlin Zoo and Aquarium were alo good.Bought one day London pass so cramed most of top attractions into that day - great money saver

out of 5Having visited Berlin before we knew what to expect and was fully familier with the transport system. We had stayed at The Mark Hotel previously but were not aware that the Hotel Chain had bought another hotel on the same street,so when we arrived at the Mark hotel we were directed to a Mark Hotel Meineke across the street which was hidden behind scaffolding. To access the reception we had to climb some stairs which were very tyring.The rooms were spacious and clean and on the whole we were satisfied with the accomodation.I suppose as I have an interest in politics the tour of The Reichstag was fasinating especially as we were given a conducted tour with an English Speaking guide. And The panoramic views From the top of the Fernsehturm Tower at Alexanderplatz were breathtaking and as for shopping Berlin has the most superb shopping especially for Women.

out of 5Travel is easy on public transport All the major attractions can easily be reached, as can travel from Tegel airport to the centre of Berlin. Buy a one or two or three day travel card for use on all public transport. The three day card comes with a booklet of special offers on entrance fees which if used greatly reduces the cost of the travel card.We stayed at the Meineke Hotel just off the Kurfurstendamm. A great hotel in a street full of excellent restaurantsWe planned our days around areas visiting chosen museums, markets, green spaces, taking a river trip and taking in the fantastic modern architecture in Potsdamer Platz. An exciting safe city to visit.
