out of 5Hotel excellent location, breakfast good, front rooms noisy as trams pass by. No tea/coffee in room although machine in lobby. Enjoyed a trip to keukenhof to see the tulips and sightseeing on the canals.

out of 5Best western blue square not ideally located for city of amsterdam. Hotel is about 25 minute tram ride from centraal station in amsterdam and then a five minute walk from tram stop. Hotel was however very nice and good value for money.

out of 5The citadel hotel, 5 mins from the station avoiding the bicycles. Clean hotel, twin bedroom & bathroom cosy, but suitable for the job. Breakfast was good croissants could be larger! would stay there again. We did most of the museums/galleries on our list in the 3 days of our stay using the i amsterdam card. Excellent value where museums are used, we only paid extra for one, lord in the attic, it would be to their benefit to go on the ia listing. Resistance museum took us over 3hrs, so much to see & read, opposite the zoo if children would rather be there. All museum staff helpful with audio guides where appropriate in english.Trams worked well with the tram map, found it easier to plan out routes the previous evening, the handbag museum a must for the ladies with some to buy at reasonable prices.Have a wet programme just in case and swop where necessary. We did!! so much to see. The i amsterdam card includes an hour's canal trip!.

out of 5Bedroom door did not lock from the outside. Attempted repair by staff failed. A bit off putting to have to sign a form on checking in that if the bath steam set of the fire alarm we would be fined euro250.00 although we are not smokers the form i signed also stated we would be fined euor200.00 if we smoked in the room. Never experienced this before in over 50 years of travel staying at many many hotels in this time.
