Holiday Reviews by Destination - Grouville

Grouville, Jersey
Grouville can boast the magnificent sandy beaches of the Royal Bay of Grouville, which constitutes approximately half of the eastern coast of Jersey. The beautifully picturesque harbour of Gorey is situated at the north east end of the bay, beneath the historic Mont Orgueil Castle. From here you can see the coast of France on a clear day.

out of 5Excellent location, 5 minutes from miles of beach. Jersey is a fantastic break. Hotel very good with extremely good breakfast and very good staff. Only downside was the TV in the room which only had 4 channels and even then they didn't work all the time. Would definitely go again.

out of 5We visited Jersey for our neice's 21st birthday. We usually stay with our relatives but as my parents-in-law also were over we had to use a hotel. The Beachcombers was a good hotel to use - very clean and the staff were excellent. We only had breakfast there but it was very good.

out of 5Although only a small island, there are lots of roads! We would recommend hiring a car as the transport is not great especially at the weekend. Gorey Castle was great with access all areas and great views. The restaurants we visited were all in this harbour town and great. Not expensive and excellent quality. The Jersey War Tunnels really are worth a visit. The story of the occupation is told well and is a part of history about which we knew little.
