out of 5The Royal Olympic Hotel, is a 5 star Hotel with a very nice swimming pool in the heart of Athens Tourist areas. Majority of attractions are 5-15 minutes walk from the hotel. Buses are on the door step, Tram and Underground are both 5 minutes walk. Very good value for Money Room standard, Breakfast, customer service and staff are all excellent and helpful. Athens is a great City. Full of History. Loads to do

out of 5Hotel small family run business friendly helpful. Clean and value for money. Area where the hotel located an area of ethnic minority unrest - high police presence and Omonia Square (2 minutes walk) was identified on Athens web site as the most dangerous place in Athens! Consequently felt unsafe except when away from hotel.

out of 5The Plaka hotel has perhaps the best position for a tourist in Athens. Plenty to do and see within short walking distances.. even the Acropolis(although uphill). Its worth going up Mt Lycabattus but its a job to find the funicular if on foot. The sightseeing bus 400 is not very good for actual sightseeing but ok for hop-on/hop-off.Metro system very good and cheap.80cents for 90 minutes,but Euro7 to the airport, which is easy to get to.

out of 5Public Tranport fare system very economical, Metro stations impressive. Taxi drivers "on the con" as usual. Natives very friendly - English no problem. (Pity about so much grafitti)
