out of 5Train journey with east coast trains up to Glasgow was nightmare as there were no seats available which were unreserved, so for 90% of journey we had to stand which was the only negative. The Malmaison was lovely with everything you needed in the room but with more luxury than travelodges eg arron aromatics shower gel and taylors of harrowgate tea!!! Breakfasts were to die for with scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on the menu.

Editor’s comments: Seats can be reserved on trains by taking Superbreak tickets to the station. This is possible with any type of train ticket which Superbreak provides.
