out of 5Parked at village hall car park at Coxwold.Great secure place to park with toilet facilities.Walked on to Kilburn where White Horse in chalk on hillside is in great view.Walked on to Carlton Hustwaite, then Hustwaite then returned to Coxwold.Views of White Horse could be seen alot on walk.Great paths and clearly sign posted.Shame pub wasn't open on the monday at Huswaite for refreshments. Returned to carpark then had ride up to car park at White Horse and enjoyed an icecream. Then we finished our day by browsing around the lovely shops in Thirsk. There was a local market on too.We had toasted tea cakes in a cafe then headed off for home. This was our second stay at Burn Hall and everything was super. The room was very clean ith great tv with freeview and restaurant faultless.

out of 5We travelled up to York by train, met up with some family. It was busy in York because the races were on. We went to Frankie and Benny's for lunch the food and staff were great. We then popped over for an afternoon of bowling. It was great fun. The hotel was easy to find and it had lovely gardens. Rather than go out that evening we spend the afternoon in the bar's garden playing cards. We booked a table for dinner too. Dinner in the hotel's resturant was very nice. The staff were helpful, knowledge and attentive. We ordered a bottle of wine, some steaks and chicken, parma ham and rissotto. With the exception of the rissotto being dry and more rice than rissotto. But the sweets were lovely and we would highly recommend the strawberry cream bruele' the only thing that would make it better would be homemade shortbread. Breakfast was lovely and because of the great service the night before Sunday we returned to the hotel for a traditional Yorkshire roast. The hotel carvery was beautiful, yorkshire pudding the size of my head. It was lovely and we would diffenately use them again. Room wise the suit was a little small but otherwise did just fine.
