Superb 2 Night Break In Valencia

A customerfrom COALVILLEwho stayed at 3* Petit Palace Germanias in Valencia wrote this review.

Stay Date: 07/10/09

Overall Hotel Rating:

5 out of 5

The hotel is a short walk from the old town and nearest mero station (10-15 mins to each) well appointed rooms, small but normal size for a city break. Excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. Pleasant helpful staff. Valencia is a city of contrasts. Picturesque old town and futuristic oceanografic, science museum etc. Easy to use metro. One day travel card, excellent value at just over 5 euros. Not as expensive as most cities, a little Spanish helps as many do not speak English. But the locals were always very helpful.

Valencia - Great City for a Short Break

A customerfrom Liverpoolwho stayed at 3* Petit Palace Germanias in Valencia wrote this review.

Stay Date: 21/03/08

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

Coming from Liverpool, Valencia had some familiar characteristics - some run down areas, lots of redevelopment going on, plenty to see and do but they haven't quite got the hang of toursim yet. Quite a few restaurants were closed over the easter holiday (I think they must have been Fallas-ed-out) and many do not stay open all day, they close mid-afternoon and do not re-open until 9pm. Very Spanish, but doesn't suit some of us Brits! The Calatrava architecture is superb, even the Alameda metro station is worth a look. His Cuidad de las Artes y las Ciences is a wonderful complex, still being worked on. Oceanografico is extremely busy, book by phone the day before and save yourself a lot of queueing. Hotel Petit Palais Germanias is a good, reasonably priced hotel within easy reach of both old and new town plus they serve one of the best breakfasts we have seen in Spain. We "did" the old and new town in two and a half days, would have liked an extra day to wander down to the port.
