out of 5Room was over heated and the air conditioning did not work properly. Bar staff were not up to the job and the only way to have a drink was to wait at the bar. The staff did not seem to know how to serve customers. A couple were very much like the julie walters waitress in acorn antiques unfortunately the same julie walters waitress also waited at table for both breakfast and dinner.

out of 5Chose george hotel as great Superbreak offer and centre of amenities. Easy to find and great safe free parking. Great base to visit cousin in the town. Restaurant little pricy a vegies were extra but with £20 off each not so bad and was a real treat. I didn't have a cooked breakfast but loads of other items to choose from hubbys breakfast looked scrummy though. Ate in bar on next evening but service very poor. Was very noisy with large group of men at bar shouting and a young group near us constantly talking very loud. Lots of shops nearby and a great park with a castle. Met up with a cousin for great reminiscing weekend.

out of 5The hotel was really old and interesting - our room had a sloped floor! We enjoyed a lovely meal on the first night in the hotel, and the second evening we explored local bars. In the day time we enjoyed many hours in the lovely local shops, as well as taking a walk through the castle gardens. We will be back.
