Bar very expensive £7.60 for small glass of wine, also very noisy, they clean out the dispense on a sunday evening, the noise was so bad it emptied the bar.

We stayed at the winchester hotel, worthy lane, a ten minute walk from the town centre, five minute walk to the railway station. The hotel was lovely, room spotless, staff very helpful, excellent breakfast. We loved the leisure centre, nice to relax after a hard day shopping!!! so much to do in winchester looking forward to the next visit.

A Night In Winchester

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 03/02/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

3 out of 5

The hotel was comfortable but the room was noisy - a fan or air conditioning unit on the roof made intermittent noises (like someone dragging a chair across the room) for most of the evening and night. The hotel decor was dull, all browns and fawns, more suited to a business meeting than a leisure break. Winchester is lovely - lots to see and do - clean and tidy and well-cared for. The hotel was within walking distance of the town and railway station. The pub near the city bridge and mill, not far from alfred's statue, served excellent food at reasonable prices - forget its name!.

Winchester And The Winchester Hotel

A customerwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 19/07/10

Overall Hotel Rating:

5 out of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed this short break in the historic city of Winchester and would recommend the Winchester hotel to anyone. It was clean, very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's also very well situated, close to the railway station and with only a short walk into the town centre. It's also on a bus route, though a rather infrequent service. This means that there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in easy reach. On the Saturday, knowing we would be tired after a trip to Jane Austen's house at Chawton, we booked at the hotel's own bistro and the meal was superlative. We liked Winchester a lot - the cathedral was lovely and there was a good variety of shops and places to eat. We'd go back and would unhesitatingly recommend it to friends.
