out of 5We travelled by shuttle to Calais and then drove to Ostend. We stayed at the Hotel Ostend, very close to the front, very helpful and pleasant staff, very comfortable room and good spread for breakfast. The only down point was that the bar was a smoking area and the atmosphere soon became unpleasant, we asked the staff if we could take our drinks to reception - no problem. We visited the Christmas markets in Ostend and Bruges but primarily enjoyed walking by the sea and generally relaxing.

out of 5This was just the sort of break we both enjoy-wandering round the narrow streets of an old sea port,inbibing the atmosphere and the local brews and chosing from a hundred places to eat. We found the natives happy and friendly!
