out of 5We enjoyed the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, it was interesting to see all the different buldings in a beautiful setting. It was good to see cooking going on in the Tudor kitchen.We called in at Uppark, which had lovely grounds. As usual the National Trust refreshments were very tasty. Only the ground floor of the house was open to the public.Winchester is a charming city, which is well wortha visit. "Life of Pi" which was on at the theatre was excellent. I am always disappointed when cathedrals insist on charging for admission, so we did not go in. We did enjoy the refectory there though.

out of 5It is with regret to state that the our stay in the hotel was mrrred by the very poor quality of food and extremely poor quality of restaurant service by the manager on duty, though the young helpers were doing their best in the total absence of management direction and leadership.

out of 5We stayed in Southampton and after a tour of the city (and the shops!) then went to Portsmouth to do the same. Had a ride up to the top of the Spinnaker Tower too then went to Gosport and had a guided tour of the submarine.A day trip to the Isle of Wight and visited the castle

out of 5Easy access to New Forest - Good walk. Recommend OS map! Oxfords Bar - fantastic food. One of the best restaurants we have been to in a long time. Holiday Inn (Southampton) - very very expensive drinks in hotel bar (nearly £10 for one single gin and tonic + one single vodka and tomato juice)
