out of 5We started out early to get to the golf course on time at 09h10. The drive to Oxford was lovely we thoroughly enjoyed the country side scenery. We were impressed when arrivng at the hotel as we were looking for a comfortable spacious hotel to have a relaxing weekend and yet still do our weekend activities - gym and jacuzzi. Which the Holiday Inn Oxford delivered. The breakfast at the hotel deserves its own paragraph because it was just outstanding. The variety was incredible and everything was hot and fresh. It was one of the best breakfasts i've had a hotel and I have stayed at a few. Welldone!

out of 5I went to Oxford, and only had time to do Blackwell's bookshop, which has a good selection of books, and is well worth a visit. Apart from this, the holiday and parking was terrible, and the problem was that we parked at the wrong end, near the ice rink, and all the attractions were quite some distance away. Apart from that I was glad to get away, as the hotel was in the middle of Services and the receptionist was cold, no smile or welcome, although the breakfast staff were good. There were noisy children in the nearby room, who seemed to have the door open, as we could hear them shouting. A possibly different receptionist in the evening was helpful over the phone, and agreed to ask them to be quiet, as it was 10.30p.m. and we just wanted to sleep. If we had had the energy, with the noise and the first reception, I think we would have gone home that night, without using the hotel we had paid for. We did not use the bar or cafe as some drunks were singing in that area as we went by.There was no soap in our room, so we used the rooms soap from next door, which we had booked for our daughter. I think a friendly welcome is essential in this hotel, as it is in such an uninspiring location, isolated from any attractions we could walk to, and it may have helped if it wasn't noisy.

out of 5Excellent situation of hotel close to park and ride and just a ten minute bus ride from Oxford town. Oxford itself was great went to fantastic cafe for lunch (dont know name but was next to Pizza Express). Holiday Inn Oxford was very modern, clean and an excellent base. There is a gym and very nice pool. Breakfast was delicious self service and you could eat as much as you wanted. We went for a walk along the river and had a great sunday lunch at a pub called 'The Trout'.
