I stayed at Albany Hotel, Eastbourne. The hotel in itself was good, but I was not impressed by the reception staff. First I called to notify about my late arrival, but that message got "lost". Secondly, on my third day the door to my hotel room was unlocked and the receptionist entered with a new guest in tow. She "thought the room was empty". So, it seems I got "lost" too.

Weekend in Sussex

After meeting some people from Eastbourne whilst on holiday in Morocco, we took the opportunity to visit them on our return, and at the same time take in a place we had never visited before, apart from breakfast in the hotel which was great we had little need to eat out anywhere in the evening and only needed a snack for lunch. The hotel was good and friendly, but on the only occasion that we wanted to eat in, the night of an important rugby match, I telephoned the advertised room service and was told that it wasn't available. Being reasonably mobile myself I had no use for the stairlift that had been installed up to the 2nd floor, however it did cross my mind that there was no obvious entrance to the hotel except up about 4 or 5 steps from the street, with no access for the disabled.

Main aim of visit to Eastbourne was to take elderly parents away for a long weekend. Weather was lovely and parents loved the hotel and its proximity to the beach and pier which was across the road from the hotel.

Christmas Shopping

Excellent shops in Eastbourne in close proximity to hotelNo need to use car-Free car parking. Because your facilities are so good, we were able to shop in the Town Centre and return to our car, parked free outside the Hotel whenever we had too many parcels. Everything is on hand for visitors to Eastbourne and we thoroughly enjoyed walking along the sea front to the shops. There is a feeling that great care is taken with flowerbeds etc, even in Winter. to return to the Hotel where inbedroom tea facilities were on hand made the end of the day very pleasant, and our first night meal in the Hotel was excellent. We really enjoyed the "Christmas day" that was laid on and the chocolates and diary from Father X were much appreciated.
