out of 5We enjoyed our stay at the hotel t putje which was close to the train station. There were four of us (2 couples) and the hotel was comfortable and the staff very helpful. The lift did smell a bit of sewerage but it wasn't a problem and became a source of daily amusement for us all! We went on a canal trip which was enjoyable and found the beautiful city very accessible and all the attractions were within easy reach. The food was a bit on the expensive side generally but good quality. Attractions not to be missed -michealangelo's madonna at the church of our lady, chocolate museum, numerous chocolate shops, brewery dehalfe mann, minnewater (lake of love). We didn't go on the horse and carts as it was cold although they were very popular. There was even a train model shop for a keen model maker in our party!.

out of 5We spent 3 nights in bruges at the T Putje hotel and had a very comfortable stay. Very modern hotel with automatic lighting and air conditioning - one of our party even had their own terrace to sit out. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and even checked the internet for the weather forecast for us! Breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot and cold buffet, not much luck with the toaster but the fresh bread was much better than toast. Many restaurants to choose from around the corner but it if you are on a budget like we were, it is worth going farther afield and exploring the little side streets for a good inexpensive meal. Sint amandsstraat off the main belfry square has a number of good cheap restaurants including the chicken - in where we had a very good meal. Another great find was the gran kaffee de passage on dweerstraat which does great belgian dishes as well as more familiar pasta etc for less than a tenner a head. Had a great day out on the train to ostend and it only took ten minutes to get there, would also recommend the chocolate museum although it has a lot of stairs, there are lifts and plenty of seating but it describes the whole process of chocolate making and you get to watch a demonstration and taste the results! All in all a great visit and a very comfortable hotel in a good location next to the bus station. Will definitely be staying here again.
