Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Stayed in Western Premium for 3 nights, very good hotel, excellent location, friendly staff, close to centre, small but nice swimming pool with Sauna. Nice choice of breakfast. Wasn't impressed by the city of Bruges, very commercial. Most of the museums are not open during the week we stayed. a meal for two cost 100 euro in a average restaurant. Lots chocolate shops. Ghent is much nicer.
Brugge - 3 Night Break

Stay Date: 14/02/08
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5This break was arranged as a surprise for my wife. We arrived in Brugge by rail having used Eurostar and local rail network. There are so many restaurants to chose from, there will be one to suit all tastes. We visited different ones each night. The ones in the squares are more touristy and therefore a bit more expensive than ones out of the way.Brugge has many museums but we just spent time wandering around the town, window shopping and drinking copius amounts of hot chocolate in very welcoming patisseries.
Bruges Short Break-Highly Reccomended!

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Bruges is a beautiful medieval city and fantastic for a short break as its pretty compact and centred around the huge, central Markt Square. We walked the main shopping streets on day one and hired cycles on day two which was a fantastic way to explore the canals and parks which criss cross the city. Theres loads of cycle paths and hire is very reasonable-around 12 euro a day.If you can face the climb, the Belfry Tower in Markt Square is well worth a visit for the fantastic views across the city and beyond, but be warned the stairs are very steep at the top! We also went ice skating in the square, which ws great fun and again, very reasonably priced.Sadly, the Christmas market was a real disappointment but the shopping in the city centre made up for this-there are some brilliant childrens and toy shops plus all the major European brands.Theres an abundance of places to eat and drink-tea rooms selling hot drinks and snacks and plenty of restaurants- even a Pizza Hut! I did notice a lack of fast food places, but to be honest, that was quite refreshing! All in al I'd highly recommend the place for couples, families or singles and I intend to return in the Spring.
