Great way to remove the stress of travelling in the early hours to an airport. This hotel has a transfer to and from the airport, and its so easy!.

We stayed at the Birmingham airport holiday inn for one night then parked our car for the following week. The room was comfortable and newly renovated. The bed was comfortable although only a standard double size. There was an empty minibar which we used to store our milk, but it automatically locked overnight and we had to have it specially released early in the morning before we left for the airport. I like to park at this hotel because you can park right outside and have access to your car whenever you wish. The hotel is under scaffolding while new facilities are being built and this has reduced the car park size, but we were able to find a space. We ate at a local pub (a harvester) less than half a mile down the road. This is cheap and good value and is open most of the time. We would use it again.

We chose this hotel because it offered the best deal on overnight stay plus a week of airport parking. When we eventually found the hotel (poor map/directions on website, but the Holiday Inn Express near the NEC sent us in the right direction! hint: go past the airport towards Birmingham and it's by the freight terminals.) we were welcomed and checked in efficiently.The parking situation was "challenging" but staff were working very hard to keep the show on the road during building works. Apart from chaotic parking and exterior scaffolding, you wouldn't notice the building works - when finished it will be an excellent hotel. As a short stay before a horribly early flight, this was surprisingly comfortable and we slept very well, until the alarm clock woke us at 4.30am! The hotel shuttle service to and from the airport was smooth, efficient and courteous - even at 5.30am. If flying out of Birmingham - stay here!.
