Hotel very well located, close to railway station, and room was well appointed and quiet as requested. Staff at hotel very courteous and attentive - meals were very good and chef keen to cater for my grandsons tastes. Local public transport very good with free shuttle bus from railway station to city centre. Chester zoo was excellent value for money and we particularly enjoyed the dinosaur exhibition! Chester has lots to offer, we walked the walls, stopping off at various points of interest and found the canal and locks fascinating - can't wait to go back!.

Mini Break In Chester

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 17/08/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

The best western westminster hotel was good once we were given a room change, we were upgraded to the executive grade free of charge, due to the original room being well below standard (badly in need of complete re-furbishment). Breakfast was a little chaotic but this was due mainly to not enough staff and coach tours staying there at the time, so large numbers to cater for. The best attraction in the city was the cathedral, beautiful, interesting and the audio tour which is free was well worth using. The shopping was good due to a lot of small individual shops you wouldn't find on the high street, reminis and the old fashioned sweet shop are well worth a visit. The city wall is a nice way to spend an hour, its about 2 miles long.

The food was good but the choice of menu for the set evening meal was rather limited. There was a free bar from 5-7pm but for some reason this did not apply to our stay as we booked on the internet as an individual couple. The choice of room we had was very basic and in poor decorative order throughout and there was no view. We have stayed in better best western hotels before.

Chester Weekend

Stay Date: 03/07/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

My wife and I went for a weekend in chester and found it a great place for shopping, eating and drinking. Plenty to see and do during the day in this historic city especially the open top bus tour. The guide on all the buses were excellent and combined with the boat trip it was great value for money. The best western hotel was very comfortable and friendly and being close to the station it was also very handy. Only 10 minutes walk into the town centre although the open top bus ticket did allow us to hop on and off for 24 hours and there is a stop right outside the station. Only wished we could have stayed longer !.
