out of 5I must comment on a meal we had at the hotel. It was extremely poor. This was a break to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and we assumed the hotel would provide us with a reasonable level of cuising. It was worse than a third rate cafe!! Complained to the duty manager, who was very apologetic and we were refunded the cost of the food, but the damage was done then....Very, very disappoiinging!! wont be visiting this hotel again!! we visited york and had a lovely high tea at betty's. A really lovely day!.

out of 5Barcelo Harrogate Majestic is a huge hotel with a fascinating history. It's very well maintained & service is efficient. Big negative was having to pay for on site parking up to £1.50 per hour & not being able to park on street due to restrictions. This meant we used the car instead of walking on our trips out. Visited RHS Harlow Carr. It's undergoing some development but the tea rooms (Betty's), shop, garden centre & visitor facilitiies were all excellent. The gardens take some time to view thoroughly including some feature 'show' gardens representing garden design through the ages. Allow a good half day for your visit. Harrogate flower show - big disappointment, not at all like the RHS flower shows & no show gardens, only exhibitors (admittedly to a very high standard) & stalls. Dodogy entertainment too!.

out of 5Most enjoyable we spent six days in Harrogate and enjoyed every one of them. The Barcelo Majestic is a very comfortable and friendly hotel with indoor pool and so near to everything. We were given a suite which was an added bonus. It was so nice being able to walk to restaurants, especially the Montpellier district and the turkish baths just down the road.
