Great Break Near To Peebles.

out of 5The hotel is set in a beautiful location, with lovely grounds. The pool was very good, although quite small. Food was very good - we sampled dinner and a bar meal. The bedroom was small but comfortable and clean. The wi-fi connection was intermittent and certainly not speedy! Staff were pleasant and helpful. The bus runs to peebles on the main road at the bottom of the drive, we spent a pleasant half day there. The staff in the hotel were excellent, recommending the town walk, with pleasant views by the river.

out of 5Staff very nice. Meal poor. Ordered rare to medium. Not tender and even staff agreed. Sent it back and was assured it would be done immediately. Member of staff returned with a question from the chef "what did i mean when i asked for rare to medium". Was left perplexed. By the time my steak, chips and one cut carrot arrived it was barely any better and i ate whilst the 3 other table guests with me had finished. Shame but unfortunately that is the experience of the barony which is at the forefront of my stay.

out of 5Fantastic hotel to go and unwind. The hotel was very quaint, cosy and extremely welcoming. The staff were fantastic and the food excellent. Will definitely be back.

out of 5The barony castle hotel appearance & driveway to it are most impressive. The interior is very smart & pleasing to the eye. The grounds have to be explored - very interesting! the indoor swimming pool is very clean & has a lovely jacuzzi in it - great after our walks! the autumn tints on the trees were still visible & we took plenty of photos, when we walked along the river bank in peebles.
