The Principality of Monaco is a small wealthy independent state on the Mediterranean coast surrounded by France. Monte Carlo is the principal resort area and key attractions include the world famous Casino, the Prince’s Palace and the exclusive Port. Cap d’Ail is a small French town on the western border of Monaco.

out of 5Fairmont hotel is wonderful, with a variety of places to dine and drink and just relax. We often had little walks around monaco, especially around monte carlo which suited us ideally for a short break. Staff in restaurants and in shops and little cafes are all very well mannered and professional and it is worth a visit for anyone who values these things.

out of 5Monte Carlo is a beautiful place populated by the very beautiful who are married to the very rich. My advice to soak up the atmosphere is to find a sunny table outside the Cafe de Paris and sit there having a few drinks and watch the world go by. The prices aren't cheap but the wine is good and so long as you keep your waiter well tipped you can sit there till dusk!
