out of 5The hotel has a small lobby area, leading through to a very attractive, well decorated and furnished lounge. Beyond the lounge, is the restaurant, which seemed very popular. The hot breakfast options are prepared to order, but are brought to your table very quickly. The food was very good quality and breakfasts were excellent. We had a large room, tastefully decorated and furnished, and with a good sized bathroom. The room had a queen size double bed, with good quality bedlinen, but small pillows, and a mattress that sagged in the middle. Unfortunately, in our bedroom we could hear each word said by the guests in the next room very clearly, even though they were only talking at a normal conversation volume. Overall, we liked the hotel and enjoyed our stay. It is a smart and attractive hotel, but expensive, and would benefit from some soundproofing between the bedrooms.

out of 5We enjoyed a lovely weekend in Oxford. Luckily the weather was kind to us and we enjoyed sunshine. The hotel was so well situated for walking around the numerous sights oxford has to offer. Many attractions are free or reasonably priced. There is no shortage of places to eat and drink,and all of a good standard. Morse and lewis are everywhere you stop for a drink. Hotel was very good.

out of 5Took our son back to uni in oxford. The mercure eastgate was as welcoming as always. Oxford looked lovely in the spring sunshine.
