out of 5We have visited the area at least twice before, but this was the first time that we had been to the new Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth. Although the weather was not brilliant we could still see for miles from the viewing decks. On the next day we went to Southampton and spent a few hours wandering around the docks area, hoping to spot one or more cruise liner. All in all it was an excellent couple of days.
An Exceptionally Friendly Hotel

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5There is something about this hotel that really won us over. From the minute we arrived to the moment we checked out the staff were incredibly helpful. Travelling with children can be challenging but smiles and warm welcomes make all the difference. The hotel itself has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The lobby area is bright and airy. Zest restaurant on the first floor looks and feels great, and serves delicious (inexpensive) meals. The main restaurant is called Treetops. Breakfast is served here - and with views over the championship golf course and two hundred acres of landscaped grounds it is a fabulous place to start the day.We explored The New Forest taking in Burley and popped into a couple of really quaint, historic pubs. The children loved the wild ponies which wander freely, even into people's gardens! Back at the hotel we all enjoyed the huge leisure centre with pool. We were rather sad to leave but plan to return soon.
