out of 5It was our anniversary weekend and we booked 2 nights and a dinner, as we had done on a number of occasions before, including with holiday inn. After selecting what we would eat from the menu before entering the restaurant I was surprised to be handed a different menu for our booking and then to be told that one of the 3 choices was not available. The soup was cold and the main course dry and very disappointing. Then to top it off we were charged for the wine which had always previously been included in the dinner package - even at other hotels within the same chain. After 2 courses were found wanting we didn't risk a 3rd course but did note that this was included in the bill, although deducted as part of the package. The hotel was well situated close to the centre of lincoln and lots of entertainment venues.

out of 5Despite rain and very strong winds we enjoyed our break. We had a waterfront view from our room which was comfortable. Good location only a short stroll to the high street. Took advantage of the bus to reach the cathedral and castle. Friday night we were the only people in the holiday inn restaurant which wasn't good. We had a very enjoyable birthday meal on saturday at the barge almost opposite the holiday inn.
