out of 5Excellent hotel (3 Poussins) in convenient location. Easy 20 minutes walk from Eurostar at Gare Du Nord. Easy walk in the evening to Montmartre for great view and plenty of restaurants, although best to get the funicular up to Sacre Couer.Tip for travel, get a Carnet of ten tickets for the Metro. It's very easy to get around.

out of 5Hotel was very clean and we loved the kitchenette area in our room which meant we could buy and store food in the fridge. Would have been nice to have complimentary tea/coffee making facilities. I'm into healthy organic vegan food and found a wonderful organic (Agriculture Biologique)bakery just down the road and a brilliant health food shop in Abbesses. This had an excellent range of vegan/veggie foods and fresh organic fruit and veg. Their rocket was delicious.Monoprix supermarkets are also good value - there was one near the hotel. They have a selection of soya foods and their own brand creamy organic dark chocolate is lovely as well as cheap. The hotel breakfast was very good value -cereals, fruit, rolls, croissants, yoghourts, cheese and all very fresh -self-service breakfast room in the cellar is welcoming and there are complimentary newspapers -The Guardian / Observer. Staff are friendly and helpful. We got Museum and Metro passes before we arrived which meant we could go straight on to the Metro and could get into galleries without queuing -also meant we could go in and out of the Louvre to get some fresh air in the Tuileries gardens without paying again. The Pompidou Centre is open late on Friday evenings and it's a good time to enjoy the collections of Modern Art in a peaceful atmosphere. The hotel was in walking distance of Montmartre and Sunday morning service in Sacre Coeur is moving and beautiful.Don't be put off by the closeness to Pigalle - the Saint Georges area is very traditional and has a good atmosphere. The hotel is in a quiet street and is very close to the Saint Georges Metro which has a direct line to Solferino for Musee D'Orsay while Le Peletier Metro and few streets away links to the Louvre.
A Whirlwind Tour of Paris!

out of 5This hotel is lovely but be prepared to walk to see all the popular attractions. You could take the metro but that is cheating, you see more on your feet! Paris is a wonderful place, the hotel is in a really good area, round the corner from the moulin rouge walked around at nightime and felt very safe, the police are a lot scarier than in Britain ! We ate in some lovely restaurants and although the names escape me it appears to be better to eat at the places off the the torist track where the parisians eat you will get a better meal for your money. If you turn left out of the hotel there are three restaurants that are fab, the one in the middle being an indian if that helps. Also, if you turn right you come onto the Rue de Martyrs which is well known for its lively restaurants and bars!

out of 5Our 2 teenage daughters loved the whole trip to Paris, particularly the historical sites and the shops on Champs Elysees and Galeries Lafayette where they found some good bargains! We had a wonderfully relaxing cruise along the Seine, which is a great way to see the old city. We got around by the Metro & bought "carnets" of 10 tickets at a time which we found to be the cheapest way to do it.There is something for everyone in Paris - history, music, art, exhibitions, good food, shopping and that "life in the big city" feel.
