out of 5The international anti-slavery museum is a "must see". It has a wealth of information and enthusiastic staff who deal well with a difficult subject matter. It, and the sight-seeing bus tour, helped to explain the rapid and prosperous growth of Liverpool. Liverpool one: a great place to shop with a wide variety of retail outlets, pedestrian precincts and a good vibe, even on an overcast day.

out of 5Good value and location for easy access to the whole area though ensure your satnav is up to date - we missed it 3 times on the motorway intersection! There is a good metro train system but the hotel is a fair walk from the station. Comfortable though the lift was not working for 3 days. No a/c but fans provided. Noisy music friday night. Good gym and pool. Dinner b&b break was good value. Victory pub was a bit jaded and no real ale (not even bottled bitter - so if you are going north and expecting real ale, forget it, even in pubs in Liverpool) Nothing within walking distance but very useful as a stopover. Would use it again if the price deal was good.

out of 5Spent three nights in the Village Hotel, Whinston, a few miles out of Liverpool. First visit to Liverpool and impressed. The hotel was very comfortable and easy to access from the motorway. It can get a little noisy but you are close to motorways and it didn't spoil our stay. Unfortunately the first night we arrived we ate in the hotel bar and were very disappointed with our meal, so much so that we ate out for our next two nights. Saying that the breakfast was excellent and we couldn't fault it.
