out of 5We stayed at the Village Hotel in Bury Manchester. I booked through Superbreak and on arrival found the details had not been sent through which caused some embarrassment for us. I was left to sort things out myself. We we upgraded as a result and did have a fantastic view from our room. The facilities were excellent especially the fitness suite/pool etc. I would stay there again. The main reason for the trip to Manchester was to visit the Lowry exhibition at Salford Quays - I enjoyed that very much and found I learned so much more about the artist that I didn't know before. I also visited the Imperial War Museum nearby which was also very good. We spent an afternoon looking around. Both places were free to visit to. The tram system is undergoing improvements and that does cause disruption to getting around - it will be great when it is finally finished. We also went to Rusholme to see the indian shops and have a meal there, well worth a visit I think.

out of 5Having read some of the rather negative reviews on your site, we were prepared to be underwhelmed. Not the case, the place is easy to find, easy to park in and very impressive externally. This impressiveness continued when we walked in. Check in was prompt and efficient, our two rooms were spotless, well equipped with a huge plasma telly. Breakfast was comprehensive and well presented and the pool and leisure centre which our daughter and her friend used was once again impressive. Having stayed in many hotels over the years, my wife and i have become accustomed to declining standards, dirt and poor service. For £60 per room per night with a breakfast that would last till dinner time, how do they do it?.
