Family Break To Legoland

The hotel accomodation was excellent. The only downfall was that it was too hot in the room, but a fan was provided. Food and facilities were excellent. The hotel was further from legoland than we expected. We enjoyed our days out at legoland and windsor castle. We ate our evening meal in local restaurants on the journey back to the hotel.

Overnight Stay At Legoland And Windsor

What a fantastic hotel to unwind and totally relax. Amazing views over the lake, and the wildlife, including the resident swans and herons made it more than enjoyable for the kids. The staff couldn't be more helpful, especially the retaurant staff who supplied my kids with food for the swans and ducks. We'll definately book this relaxing hotel again.

Had An Ok Stay

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 27/07/10

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

The room views are the real selling point of this hotel - it was lovely to have a direct view of the lake having breakfast from our room and be visited by friendly ducks! Size of room had good proportions too and we found it very quiet. The breakfast was very generous - a good range of cereals, cold cuts for those who like that kind of thing, bowls of fresh fruit, etc which you have while they prepare your order from the hot breakfast menu - we left very well full. I have to agree with a review I saw elsewhere about it being hard to find - the postcode comes up as something different on the satnav, but luckily there were so many brown tourist signs that we were able to find it, but it is a fair hike to legoland. And what is it with hotels in this country still charging £5/hour for internet! Broadband & wifi are not difficult for businesses these days and could easily be made freely available. Things that make it dip below a 4 star are the cleaning - there were big cobwebs in the room and restaurant and the bath/shower taps are very tarnished with limescale which made it feel a bit icky using the bath. I personally experienced the cleaning though - whilst enjoying the view leaning on the balcony i suddenly felt myself being 'showered' and looked up to see the chamber maid brushing dust from the balcony above onto me, when i looked up and said "hey" there wasn't even an apology. On arrival the restaurant had been closed for the day yet a £3 tray charge was still levied for room service (and even though we only ordered 2 simple dishes it took an hour to arrive). Tv choice is very limited - only sky news, sky sports 1&2 and terrestrial channels - with even freeview being so widely available, a better choice particularly with small children would have been great. Have to say there are no provisions for small children - some nearby hotels we considered advertised games/movies/separate check-in for children and as this hotel sells itself and was booked as part of a legoland break, more thought for our children should be given. All in all, if asked I'd say for a couple of days it's an ok stay.
