out of 5I took my partener for a romantic 48 hours for his birthday and to spend quality time together. The zoo was fantastic and so was the hotel. Although the bedroom was a little small, all staff were very friendly. I had booked a meal at the brassaire and brought a cake with me. The brassaire staff were amazing, very friendly and even sung happy birthday when brought the cake. The spa treatment was good and the staff again friendly.

A Great Short Break!

out of 5We went to chester zoo, with its dinosaur exhibition (available till oct '11) and vast array of wildlife, it is a fabulous day out for adults and kids. Though the signage at the zoo could do with being more accurate... We also went shopping into chester city centre. A good selection of shops available and there's a small coffee shop on the high street (opposite abbey's taxi rank) that does lovely pots of tea and possibly the best muffins we've ever tasted. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and the people were very friendly and helpful.

A Surprise Break For Mum's 70th Birthday
A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.
Stay Date: 18/09/10
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We booked the hotel as a surprise short break for our mum's 70th birthday. She had never been to Chester but always wanted to. The hotel is fantastic and we would certainly recommend it to anyone. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The travel cot provided for my 2 year old niece was set up ready for us and she even had her own towel! We ate in Nelson's bar both nights and the food was good. They also have a good children's menu for little tummies. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly, especially with a demanding 2 year old. Breakfast choice was wide, from continental to full English, and a menu of additional cooked food you could specifically order. The hotel has a spa which we unfortunately didn't have time to use but if that's the same standard as the rest of the hotel then it'll be great. One little tip for anyone travelling by car who wants to go into the centre of Chester. There is a park & ride about a mile from the hotel, reception staff can give you directions. Takes about 5 minutes and drops you right in the centre, and costs £1.70 return. Far better than paying about £12.00 for a days parking in the centre!! Shopping in Chester is a joy with a mix of independent interesting shops and high street names. And the architecture is amazing. All in all we were very happy with our stay at the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel, we'd certainly stay there again and would happily recommend it to anyone.

A Very Pleasant Stay

out of 5Room was a bit small with unfinished work outside the window but Nelsons bar was really relaxing and food was excellent. Friendly staff. Convenient and frequent bus stops outside for Chester & Wrexham. Beautiful gardens. Didn't use the pool or spa. Ample car parking.
