The room was a free upgrade which was nice, however the room was freezing cold and we had to have a hot bath and sleep with the extra blankets on us that was supplied in the wardrobe

Honeymoon in Oban February 2009

A customerfrom Kings Lynnwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 08/02/09

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

We loved Oban so much we will definately be going back. The train from Kings Cross to Edinburgh is a nighmare so make sure you reserve seats. McCaigs Tower and Dunollie Castle are nice but don't expect too much. Dunstaffnage is much the same except you have to pay. The Sea-life centre was fantastic. People are really friendly and helpful and know their local history. Just wish the weather had been better on the day we were going to visit Mull (we didn't because there was a heavy mist and fine rain). The Caldonian Hotel is excellently positioned, well run, and good accommodation. The countryside is breath-taking and completely unpolluted. Gorgeous even in February (but dress for the cold).

Oban Short Break

A customerfrom Glasgowwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 25/01/09

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

Bumpy mattress with audible springs kept my sister awake and me too! Everytime she moved I woke up. But the hotel staff sorted us into another room. Oban is mainly shut early in the week during January - well no one would expect it to be so mild so I can't blame them. Countryside fantastic though and I'd go back again.
