out of 5We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and thought our hb with wine package good value for money. The evening meals are very good. The room was clean and comfortable although quite basic. We used the park and ride nearby to get in to York and this was also good value. If you want to a weekend break in York we can recommend the burn.

out of 5We had a love short break at the burn hotel, the weather was also good and we passed through some lovely little villages, very pretty it was like going back in time. Would recommend this hotel and sightseeing in the area.

out of 5Burn hall is a plain but comfortable hotel set in the countryside, but definitely not a country house hotel. Other premises sharing the site reduce the impression of being out in the country, but weren't intrusive when we were there. We asked for and were given a quiet upper floor room (overlooking a training centre and an ambulance station) but the hotel was generally quiet during our stay (no conferences or wedding parties). The staff were all friendly and efficient. Meals were good - interesting and well cooked if not spectacular. Our d, b & b package was excellent value, and included modest but perfectly drinkable wine with dinner. The city of york was easily accessible using the excellent park and ride facility at rawcliffe bar, with free parking and buses that we older english people could use our bus passes on.
