out of 5My pal and I spent two nights and days at the hotel using the spa and walking through the grounds. The hotel is stylish and classy and the staff, especially Brian the porter, were very friendly. We indulged in a glorious afternoon tea, ate an excellent bar meal and a good, if a little pretentious, dinner in the restaurant. It is also the only classy hotel I have ever visited which produced a perfect breakfast bacon and egg sandwich. Near-perfection only spoiled by being woken at 6.30am by noisy delivery vans on both days outside our room. I would love to go back but not to room 21.

out of 5Visiting north Wales for a family occasion, the Rookery is convenient for the M6 and is splendid. From the very warm welcome to the general demeanour, slightly run down but a splendid stay. Never happened before but the catering manager bought me a pint and was prepared to nip out to buy ciggies for the wife. Add to this excellent cuisine both breakfast and evening meal and the Rookery remains "hand picked".

out of 5I enjoyed my stay here the spa was good but get your deals on line as prices are high. Didn't eat at the hotel due to the prices. The room was great and staff were good anything you want they sorted it for you.

out of 5Just an overnighter on my way home during a business trip to Wallasey. A beautiful location, very roomy room and a huge log fire in the drawing room. Applause all round!
