Rome - The Eternal City

5 out of 5

Rome is a fantastic place to visit. We went for 4 nights in early July which seemed just right. The weather, although very hot was perfect.Travelling around is really easy. Buy a ticket for 11 euros which lasts for 3 days and allows you to use all forms of public transportmany, many attractions to see, plan your days so they are not wasted. The queue for the Sistine Chapel seemed quieter after 11.30am, and your shoulders and knees need to be covered up if you're going in St Peters Basilica.

Roman Ruins and Beyond

Stay Date: 17/05/07

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

During our 4 day stay in Rome, we managed to visit all the main attractions and also managed a trip to Pompei and the Tivoli Gardens, free entry to both on our visit in May 2007.We used local transport - metro, buses and trains and found getting around very easy although the locals don't believe in queuing! The Termini was very good for information on getting around and you can get a BIG ticket for 4 euros which lasts all day.Our hotel was very good although it took 15 minutes by bus into Rome and the nearest metro station - Bologna was quite a long walk approx 20-30 mins.

Rome in a Weekend

A customerwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 15/12/06

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

The public transport in Rome is unusual, but the underground is excellent. Getting the train from the airport makes getting around easy. An open top bus ride is highly recommended as it shows all the main tourist sights and you can hop on and off with certain tours. Rome at night on the bus is romantic.
