out of 5The hotel is very nice and the welcome at reception was really nice. We were escorted to our room and the lady explained everything to us which was a nice touch. The room was good and the bathroom excellent. Breakfast was superb but I was a little worse for wear to enjoy it fully. Didn't meet the infamous manager either.

out of 5This hotel was perfect. Located just outside the village of Grasmere which was a definate advantage with regards to traffic noise! It was very clean, staff were lovely and the food, although quite expensive was excellent.The surrounding area had lots to do. There are some lovely walks around and both Beatrix Potter's and Wordsworth's homes are nearby. Both Ambleside and Windermere are very close and have more restaurants, shops and pubs.

out of 5Visited Keswick and the Saturday market, good coffee by the Lake, Pencil Museum very good. Aquarium of the Lakes excellent, good cafe there Hotel, Rothay Garden excellent, Rooms comfortable, service excellent, food superb.
