Honeymoon in Rome

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

We spent 5 days on honeymoon in Rome staying at the SAS Radisson. Wonderful hotel with rooftop pool, fairly central location - food pricey in hotel but that is a minor comment as Rome has an abundance of wonderful cafes and restaurants. Would not recommend Rome for family holiday - too much walking and sightseeing to suit children - but for an adult city break it is terrific. Stayed for 5 days and could easily have spent a fortnight and still feel there was loads to do and see. Highlight was trip to Pompeii - a little tricky if going by public transport rather than on organised tour but well worth it.

We went to support a family member entered in the marathon - despite the extra crowds, this event made sightseeing a little restricted owing to closed roads - Rome is definatly worth a visit - we will return!Strange that you cant buy a rail ticket at teh train station??? and that the signs around Rome are generally, well, wrong!
