out of 5We were treated wonderfully by all the staff, the view from our bedroom was over the river ribble it was lovely. The hotel itself could do with a bit of updating but that aside it was a wonderful break and the restaurant food was exceptional. An afternoon in Ribchester was very enjoyable. We visited the roman fort and exhibition and found a wonderful little art gallery with many talented artists! Well worth a visit.

out of 5Our visit to the tickled trout was for a general 'chill out' weekend. This was exactly what we did. We had a super time and couldn't fault the hotel, staff and facilities. The only donwnside was the weather, which no-one could do anything about! We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.

out of 5Living in Scotland with a husband working in south wales the preston area becomes a great half way weekend meeting point.We both arrived just in time to enjoy an excellent steak and grill dinner before retiring. The following morning started off wet so a leisurely breakfast, folowed by saturday kitchen on the room tv then a lovely cup of coffee in the lounge then out for a drive.Lytham st annes had been recommend by the barman, the sun came out, we found an antique and collectors fair where we picked up a few nice pieces of glassware and had a lovely walk along the front in the sunshine. Fans of nigel haworths cooking and the ribble valley inns we then headed to whalley to the three fishes but arriving too early for evening meal we contined over to broughton to the bull, a lovely drive and ecellent pub fayre with friendly service. The following morning we visited clitheroe and wandered around a car boot sale before heading our seoperate ways.

out of 5The Tickled Trout was a hotel we had seen on many occasions when driving up the m6 to Blackpool and had long promised ourselves to visit. It did not disappoint. The room was very good with a lovely view over the river and the hotel was very good - we particularly enjoyed the terrace overlooking the river. Best of all, however, was the evening meal in the hotel, whch was simply one of the best meals we have ever had. We will return gladly to the Tickled Trout in the future.
