About this hotel
This traditional country Inn is perfectly located just 11 miles south of Bath, and 3 miles from Frome. A visit or stay at the Woolpack Hotel provides you with the perfect base to explore the surrounding areas. The name says a great deal about Beckington's history. Beckington achieved importance and prosperity in the middle ages as a result of the wool trade. By the time The Woolpack began its life as a coaching inn in the 1500s, fulling mills were established all along the banks of the River Frome and the cottage industry of spinning and weaving was thriving. With its large roaring fire burning throughout the winter and its courtyard garden to delight you from the spring onwards, The hotel offers you a warm welcome and a stay that has a touch of luxury. The main area on the ground floor is divided into the bar, with its stone floor, open log fire and fine traditional ale and the two dining areas. Together with the Oak room and Garden room, this is an ideal place for a quick snack or that special meal. With freshly prepared dishes to include game from the local shoot, fish delivered daily from Brixham.
