My Birthday Stay In Canterbury

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 19/05/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

The falstaff hotel, canterbury, is a delightful 'olde worlde' hotel, but there is nothing 'olde worlde' about the service from the staff - they even arranged for a bouquet of flowers to be in our room. Receptionists were extremely helpful in giving directions around the town, and suggesting restaurants. We cannot recommend highly enough chapman's seafood restaurant in canterbury. The decor is minimal yet intimate, the proprietors/service helpful & efficient, and the food: out of this world - if you like seafood!.

Three Days in Canterbury

A customerwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 20/04/09

Overall Hotel Rating:

2 out of 5

The visit would have been even better if the hotel made just a few improvements. It is really in need of a make-over/refurbishment: the heating was temperamental; the housekeeping needs more supervision [it should not be necessary to have to ask for a replacement toilet roll at all, let alone make two requests before it is acted upon]; for someone staying four nights on half-board it was disconcerting to find that the menu did not change.

Weekend in Canterbury

A customerfrom Londonwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 17/04/09

Overall Hotel Rating:

2 out of 5

Interesting city, lots to do, magnificant Cathedral fantastic buildings, lovely park, just dont stay at the Falstaff, secondary glazing allows the noise of road traffic, people leaving bars club in the early hours. Needed to sleep during the day due to lack of sleep at night, the noisiest floorboards ever, every footstep was heard. Continental breakfast exists of cereal and toast, run out of pastries, and the only English hotel i know that doesnt have marmalade! Please visit Canterbury, stay at the Abode Hotel, anywhere except the Falstaff. Even the t.v. was below the height of the dressing table, and the only way to watch, as to sit on the very edge of the bed.
