out of 5Another excellent holiday with Superbreak. The Bryghia hotel is a small, typical family run Belgian hotel. It was ideally located for us - just far enough away from the hustle and bustle but not off the beaten track and only 10 minutes from the square. Facilities excellent - lovely fresh clean bedding. The staff were very obliging but not very jolly. Other excellent accommodation is Ter Brugge just round the corner from the Bryghia. I would stay at either of these again. The belfry is a must for the fit and willing. Not only are you rewarded with an excellent view of the square and beyond, but the bells and clock mechanisms are fascinating.

out of 5We have now visited Bruges 5 times in the last 18 years and it has changed little. It is easy to escape the main tourist area and just wander around the canals. You cannot get lost ! The choice of restaurants , beer cafes and chocolateries make this a break for everything fine in life,The Bryghia Hotel is well placed - central but away from the main area. It offers a good all round standard and is an historic building as well
Overnight in Bruges

out of 5Overnight ferry crossing and arrived in Bruges mid morning. A beautiful city. Wonderful architecture. Watch out for the horse drawn carriages and numerous bicycles. Would not bother climbing the belfry tower again, although the view was amzaing from the top. Badly organised to climb up the narrow staircase as visitors were still descending. Not worth 8 Euros. The boat trip on the canals was brilliant as was the sightseeing bus which managed to squeeze through the narrow streets. The hotel was very comfortable and felt luxuriously roomy after a small cabin on the ferry! Our room was available 2 hours earlier than expected. The lift in the hotel was an adventure in itself! Wonderfully filling continental breakfast. No problems about leaving our bags there, after we had checked out, whilst we made the most of our last day. A very pleasant short break.
