out of 5We spent a lovely weekend having a tour by foot of all the local sights, such as museums, university buildings, parliamentary buildings, art galleries, royal mile etc, also saw good film at the picture house cinema.

out of 5Ideally placed hotel for the station and 5 minutes walk from princes street and all main attractions. Hotel was clean and room to the rear (418) was clean and no noise at night. Good choice at breakfast. Spa was on the small side but had a good variety - a great base for a short break to see Edinburgh.

out of 5The hotel was perfectly sited for all of Edinburgh, but we were at the front of the hotel which is on the busiest road in the city, and all the emergency ambulances go past, request a room at the rear.

out of 5Excellent value all the way - from the first class rail travel (well worth paying that little bit extra), the hotel location and quality of room with breakfast - great atmosphere and ambience. Lovely, relaxed bar in barcelo for a night cap.... Would highly recommend a visit to the dome, george street for a cocktail (not cheap but an experience), any of the non-chain italian restaurants and the filling station, royal mile, 3 courses for £11! don't miss taking the bus to leith and doing the brittania. Castle is the deserved highlight of the visit followed by a stroll through the park, princes street and the shops there and beyond in george street.

out of 5Good but room very noisy in front of hotel even on 5th floor. Pool really cold. Service in bar so slow we were given complimentary drinks.
